SAN JOSE, CA.,
--Dec. 14, 2000 -- POPster 1.5 allows any user to simply and automatically transmit live broadcasts from their desktop directly to viewers by leveraging their available bandwidth (peer-to-peer webcasting), or by instantly purchasing additional bandwidth through a web-based interface. The new features include real-time bandwidth-on-demand, pay-per- view, public and/or private stream selection, personal account management, digital rights management, streaming ad insertions and live chat. "We believe that POPster will fast become the standard for live webcasting due to its ease of use, and the fact that it has digital rights management and e-commerce capabilities built-in from the start," said POPcast Chairman and Founder William Mutual. "POPster 1.5 turns video streaming into profit streaming by leveraging POPcast affiliates and partners to reach millions of end users who can now take advantage of this revolutionary new network service. Now anyone can truly become a broadcaster." Customized versions of POPster 1.5 will be offered through branded destination sites, broadband ISPs, and vertical business channels. BTopenworld, which is British Telecommunications international mass market Internet business, exemplifies the type of leading broadband providers expected to make POPster available to customers. POPcast broadband clients can use POPster to increase service adoption and network usage, provide control over service administration, and generate additional subscriber revenue through bandwidth on demand and pay-per-view opportunities. POPster 1.5 is being
showcased at Streaming Media West 2000, scheduled for Dec. 12-14 at the
San Jose Convention Center. POPster made its initial debut at the Streaming Media East show in June 2000. About POPcast Communications
