Adobe After Effects 6.0

As long as we are on other free plug-ins that have been added for your enjoyment, Keylight is included to enhance your keying work. While I really enjoy using the Production Bundle key effects to pull off really good keys with all kinds of green and blue screen footage, they aren’t the best. In recent months I have even pointed you to other 3rd party plug-ins that make keying much easier.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]With Keylight, you may not need to use those 3rd party keyers ever again. Keylight is so simple to use, often you will only need to select the key color and Keylight will do the rest for you. For those times when you need to tweak more, Keylight includes secondary mattes, color correction, and edge correction controls.

If you are keying footage, or even painting alpha channels with Vector Paint, you will be interested in Auto-trace. This feature will take any alpha channel information and convert it to editable masks.

Masks are created and added to the original footage or to a seperate layer in the Timeline.

With these new paths, you can add effects like Trapcode’s Shine, or even have text follow the path.

Speaking of masks, After Effects also includes RotoBezier Masks which make it easier to Rotoscope footage from frame to frame.
