Also included is Warp, which contains 15 preset warp effects to bulge, bend, arc, or even create a flag distortion to a layer. Taking a cue from Photoshop’s Text Warp, quickly transforming a layer is a snap.

If you have ever needed to create an effect that looks like chalk on the sidewalk, then you’ll be interested in Scribble, which does just that.

Dust and Scratches makes dust, scratches, and artifacts less noticeable.

One of the complaints I and many users out in post production land had with After Effects 5.0 and 5.5 was with the programs inability to generate simple 3D primatives from layers (or solids). While it wasn’t fun, you could create your own 3D cube and sphere with some work, or you could go and purchase a 3rd party plug-in to do it for you.

Having listened to users, Adobe has split the difference and included Digital Assistants Lite from Digital Anarchy.

With these keyframe assistants, arranging and animating 3D layers is now much easier. Just because it is labeled Lite, don’t think this plug-in is a throwaway. This was probably one of the best moves Digital Anarchy could have made, as once users discover the power behind Lite, they will quickly want to upgrade to the full version.
