Color Management
When Microsoft released Windows 95, there were at least four image editing applications that were targeted at graphics artists. Picture Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Corel PHOTO-PAINT (formerly Zsoft PhotoFinish), and Aldus PhotoStyler (A Ulead Systems product that was sold to Aldus, which Adobe acquired, and then discontinued).
Picture Publisher 10 Professional is one of the few remaining image editing applications that supports 64-bit CMYK and 48-bit RGB color support. It also supports Kodak's Color Management System. Support for CMYK images is key, because if you are outfitting a corporate office with an image editing application and you must have CMYK support, you don't need to spend $609 per seat for Photoshop.

Special Effects
Picture Publisher 10 offers new gradients, Blur effects, a lightning effect that enables you to place a lightning bolt on your image, Particle Studio effects, and a perspective drop shadow wizard that enables you to add custom drop shadows to your images.
The effects range from very cool to needlessly cheesy, but you do get a lot of effects to choose from. You can also paint with textures and images, a feature similar to the defunct Fractal Design's Expression application (Now owned by Creature House and in version 2).
Enhanced Image Edge Wizard
The Image Edge Wizard walks you through the process of adding a border or edge to your image. The wizard offers more than 70 edges to choose from in the edge window. You can also create a custom edge with a custom mask in Picture Publisher and apply that to your image.
Some of the edges take away part of your image, so you need to make sure the edge effect is to your liking. You can also preview what the edge will look like before you apply the edge. Applying the edge is quick, less than 6 seconds for a 2MB image on a 1GHz Pentium 4 with 128MB RAM.
